The Return of the Artic Fox

"The Return of the Arctic Fox" is a documentary film written and directed by Kimmo Ohtonen. It follows, over the course of two years, the attempt to bring the critically endangered arctic fox back to Finland as a breeding species, and the people who are trying to save the species.

Kimmo Ohtonen's tireless effort is ultimately rewarded when he succeeds in capturing on film, for the first time in nearly 30 years, the journey of an arctic fox family that has nested in Finland — from the spark of romance to raising their pups. This is the first time arctic fox breeding has ever been recorded on video.

The film promises a unique journey through the fells of the North, culminating in a historic event. (2023)
